Playgrounds are famous for doing exactly what they say on the tin….providing a ground for play! And whilst we strive to literally make it ‘all fun and games’ for the children so it is an engaging and bright safe space, the use of ground marking based activities in a playground environment also allows children to learn the important skills of communication, problem solving and cooperation amongst their peers. Not only this, but a better understanding is able to be gained of their own emotions as well as those around them.

Here at Thermmark, these magical aspects of play are at the forefront of our minds when creating our innovative markings. Finding moments for learning through play is socially and emotionally vital for the development of personal skills as well as educational ones. Abilities such as turn taking, understanding body language, recognising personal space, good listening, developing self-discipline, paying attention and inclusion are learnt as the children are able to gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and environments, in turn, learning to make sense of the world around them.

From the Adult perspective, whether Teacher or Parent, the play method of education helps children improve creativity, language, numeracy and fitness skills, acquiring information and abilities which are crucial to cognitive growth, and cultivating life lasting aptitudes whilst thriving via the medium of play. We have heard it described as ‘perfect practise for tomorrow’….the opportunity to think, negotiate, adapt and try again when things don’t quite go to plan.

A quick search online will let you know that you can apply to local authorities for grants and other organisations such as Big Lottery Awards For All, ASDA Foundation and Tesco Bags of Help (links included further below for quick reference). Of course there are also many other fun and effective fundraising activities which can be achieved via schools setting their own goals which everyone can take part in! These range from school discos, raffles, quiz nights, fun days, talent shows, treasure hunts….you name it, the options are as limitless as the markings we can create for you!

Need to alter the scale or design to accommodate; consider it done. Have a bespoke requirement; fantastic, in fact we thrive on such a challenge!
